Previously Un Back in the pre-grunge 80's, Chip Doring,
Jaime Caffery, Tom Davis and Tim Nelson joined forces and created
one of the most unique rock bands in Seattle. After a hiatus, the
CK5 lineup changed; Doring and Caffery remained at the helm, and
Rhonda Pelikan (Mighty Shiny luminary) joined up in 1986 on second
guitar and vocals. The band went into the studio twice between 1988
and 1990 with new drummer and engineer extraordinaire Jack Endino
at the controls. With the exception of a single released on C/Z
Records and another track featured on the Far Cry compilation
by C/Z, these songs ever made it beyond cassette tape. Jack and
mastering engineer Barry Corliss recently took the time to digitally
master these sessions. Finally available on one compact disc, Previously
Un is a definitive collection of this fine band's recorded works.
20 tracks include: Boss Rad, Do You Do, Shoot to Kill, Mecca, Tacklebox,
Exapno Mapcase, Life is a Fill of Toast, 4th Hole, Skaface (recorded
live in Vancouver, B.C.), Poquito Burrito (live), Mark I (live),
Fungus (live), Bedouin Stomp, Scarab, Grommet, Another October,
Foreign Dreams, Scheherezade, Mecca 2001 Remix, and Essay on the
Fate of Western Civilization. $10, includes tax and shipping. Read a little more about CK5 on their site.
